Music

Music plays an important role in our lives. Good music education supplements a child’s academic success and enhances the school community. Through music, children can improve their creativity, coordination skills and memorisation, as well as self-confidence. At Tweeddale, children have whole class music lessons where they develop their ability to sing, play and create music in a range of genres. Music lessons also provide cross-curricular links to other subjects such as English, maths, science, PE and history. Children also come together for weekly singing assemblies, where they learn and perform seasonally relevant repertoire. If children wish to develop their musical skills further, they may choose to join Recorder Club (Key Stage 1) or Choir (Key Stage 2).
