Understanding & Supporting ARFID: Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder

 

Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, more commonly known as ARFID, is a disorder characterised by a pattern of eating that avoids certain foods/food groups and/or is restricted in quantity. This parent webinar will talk through the difference between picky eaters, problem feeders and ARFID. It aims to consider a behavioural approach to ARFID, and provide parents with practical advice.

It’s common for parents to worry about their children trying smoking, alcohol or drugs as they get older. However, in recent years, more young people have been using e-cigarettes, known as vaping. Children are trying vaping younger than ever and the risks are less well known than with other substances.

Wimbledon after-school sessions

We're running two *FREE* after-school sessions at Merton Park Primary this Friday, 15th September.

At our play sessions, the children are in charge. They can run the trains, build the track, and sort out any problems. It builds their confidence, reduces their anxiety, and allows them to play for hours, while developing their social and communication skills.

Supporting Your Child's Move to Secondary School

Beginning secondary school involves lots of different changes for children including travelling new routes to school, becoming familiar with new environments and teachers, making new friends, and learning new subjects. This workshop aims to discuss these common worries and provide strategies to help you support your child through the transition.

The Education Wellbeing Service is offering this workshop on 2 dates. Parents can either attend an online webinar or in person session.
