Don't forget that we break up at 2pm on Friday for the summer holdiays. Children return to school on Tuesday 6 September at 8:45am. Monday 5 September is an INSET day.
Five children from Year 6 represented the school at the 'Primary Science and Engineering Challenge' held at Wallington County Grammar School. They participated in various challenges, competing against 9 other schools from the borough. The first challenge involved using fruit pastilles and cocktail sticks to make the tallest free standing tower. The second challenge tested the children's understanding of electrical circuits where they had to make a buggy move back and forth using various equipment. The third challenge involved making a stable structure big enough for them all to sit inside - the only equipment they were allowed to use was newspaper. During this challenge the children won a trophy for first place. The children certainly made us proud winning second place over all. They each received a a goodie bag and certificates for their participation. There are more photos in the gallery.

Some Year 5 pupils visited the building site today. The site manager handed out high visibility jackets and hard hats to the pupils and were shown around the new two-storey building of the Children's Centre. Ernest said "I can't wait to see what it's going to look like when it's finished!".
