Tweeddale Primary School joins the Greenshaw Learning Trust

On 1 September Tweeddale Primary School in Carshalton became the latest school to join the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust welcomed the school’s staff, students and governors saying: “We are delighted that Tweeddale Primary School has chosen to become part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

This is another significant step in the growth of the Trust as we build a community of schools with shared ethos and a commitment to support each other.

Tweeddale follows closely in the footsteps of Victor Seymour Infants’ School that joined the Trust earlier in the summer.”

John Gallop, Chair of Governors at Tweeddale Primary School, said: “We are very excited about the future of Tweeddale Primary School as a member of the Greenshaw family of schools. As part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust Tweeddale will benefit from and contribute to closer collaboration within a community of like-minded schools – both primary and secondary.”

In March 2016, having carefully considered the school’s future, and evaluated its options, the Tweeddale Governing Body decided that it would be in the best interests of Tweeddale and its pupils for the school to become an Academy as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Following a consultation with its stakeholders, the Governing Body agreed unanimously to proceed with its proposal that it should join the Greenshaw Learning Trust. The governing body consulted its stakeholders during March and April and into May. The necessary arrangements for the school to become an academy with the Trust have now been completed and the school formally joined the Trust on 1 September 2016.
