Art

At Tweeddale Primary School, Art offers opportunities to stimulate children’s creativity and imaginations. Throughout Art, children experiment with a range of colours, forms, textures, patterns and different materials to communicate what they see, feel and think.

In Art, children are always developing their skills through practising and consolidation of fundamental skills. Children are given first hand experiences to learn from and they have opportunity to go on class visits, work individually or in a group.

The planning of the subject is undertaken by the whole teaching staff. It is based on the National Curriculum Programmes of Study and Attainment targets for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. In Early Years, it is based upon the Early Years foundation stage Development Matters document.
