Sport Relief - Still time to donate £1

On Friday 19th March we took part in Sport Relief and all the children walked a mile (Reception and Year 1, half a mile). A mile is 7 times around the main playground. Parents were invited to take part and walk the mile with their child.

If you haven't yet brought in your contribution of £1.00 per child for Sport Relief then it's not too late to do so.  This will help people living disadvantaged lives, both in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.

Special visitor at Tweeddale

On Thursday 18th March, Yam (from Spud & Yam) came to visit Tweeddale Primary School.  Winston performed to all the children in the school throughout the day, singing songs as the children joined in with clapping, tapping and voices.  The children also got to join in by using instruments.

The children loved the rhythms, enjoyed the rhymes and learnt about how to get along with each other through stories.

It was a fantastic experience enjoyed by all.

Eco-local litter day

A tutor from Eco-local came into school to talk to the children about litter and its effects.  The children had an assembly and answered questions.  Workshops were run throughout the day for Years 2 and 3.  The children also took part in fun practical activities.  Photos from the day will soon be in our gallery.
